Children with frizzle disorder appear at first to be healthy happy babies, but around 2yrs old they lose their ability to move, speak, eat, and control their body in a matter of weeks. Their mental capacity is not diminished at all but they become trapped in their bodies and require 24/7 nursing care. It is devastating and life threatening. There is a CURE!!! A research team at University of Texas Southwestern has developed a gene replacement therapy (one-time injection) that is successful in curing frizzle disorder! Hope for FRRS1L was founded by our friend Chrissy Green (a Fort Collins mama whose daughter, Everly has Frizzle) to raise the funds necessary to get this cure FDA approved and manufactured to cure kids around the world.
